Facilitating Access to Justice is one of the core agenda items for IPAC, as it empowers people to exercise their rights, challenge discrimination and hold decision-makers accountable. This intervention seeks to ensure that victims of human rights violations by state agencies are able to access justice, especially in the areas where there has been a prolonged conflict.
The goals of this programme are:
- Empower the poor and marginalized to seek response and remedies for injustice.
- Respond to immediate justice needs including the protection of women’s rights and access to legal services.
- Intervene in grave situations of injustice such as police brutality and impunity for perpetrators of sexual and gender-based violence.
- Strengthen linkages between formal and informal structures.
